The Executive

Surya Shivjot Kaur

Surya Shivjot, the founder of MOVING INTO BEING, embraces the very qualities that allow us to embody yoga to the fullest. Change is constant - in all levels of life, and Surya's dharma is to support practise that expands boundaries, transforms perspectives and inspires greater potential.

Surya is an experienced international Yoga Teacher (E-RYT500), Kundalini Yoga teacher, Teacher Trainer, Somatic Movement Educator (MA, SME) and Community Pedagogue, who grew up in Lapland, Finland. Her strong yearning for self realization, passion for ancient yogic science, Advaita Vedanta and Buddhist meditation led her to schools and ashrams across Europe and India. She spend times in isolation and silence, studying yoga in the roots of the Himalayas, feeling blessed to be guided by Indian yogis, spiritual Masters and advanced teachers of Non-Duality.

At the moment Surya works as a lead trainer in Teacher Training programmes at One Yoga Thailand. She is inspired to share the practises and inner work of self-inquiry that had a profound transformation in her own life, in which the bodymind is finally free to ungrip and surrender into ease and joy. Yoga is not seen as a physical practise, but a way of liberation and awakening. Bhakti yoga and Raja yoga are deepening the experience of what it means to live yogic and sattvic life, so that all the practises are brought into daily divine human experience.

She holds a Master's degree in Somatic Wellbeing and her background is in African studies in the humanitarian organisation field. She has worked as an Educator in environmental and aid organisations in Finland, Kenya and Nepal.

Surya imparts her passion for ancient yoga philosophy and holistic wellbeing in her teachings, inspiring students to find their fullest potential and ability to gain self responsibility -From bodily health to self transformation. Committed Sadhana and exploration of embodied mindfulness has awakened her creativity and intuitivity. She holds the space of transformation in a loving and compassionate way, where students are capable of finding their innate ability to shine their light and returning to the mysterious union with the body, consiousness and soul.
